Infrared underfloor heating reviews
Nearly 60% of our installations are underfloor heating. Customers highlight the warm, even floor, control room by room with both a floor and an air sensor, and installation in a single day on a well-prepared site. Below are their own words, the installation reports and the planned consumption figures.
In brief
- Nearly 60% of our installations are infrared underfloor heating.
- Customers most often highlight the warm, even floor, control room by room and fast installation.
- On a well-prepared site the underfloor heating is finished in one day and can be used immediately afterwards.
- Two sensors work in every room: one monitors the air temperature, the other the floor temperature.
- Laminate flooring can go directly on the system; under tiles a 4–5 cm layer of concrete or Rigidur is needed.
Our customers on underfloor heating
"We have been through the first heating season, and even in very hard frost we were never cold. The heating was even everywhere, and we are completely satisfied."
Kata, Dunakeszi, newly built house (her account, in Hungarian)
"Because of regularly recurring mould, my partner and I decided to have the existing underfloor heating system in the flat replaced. We did not have to wait long for the positive results. We definitely came out ahead with infrared heating: it is much more modern and environmentally friendly."
Valéria Péteri (her account, in Hungarian)
"My child is asthmatic and also suffers from various allergies, so replacing the underfloor heating installed in the house decades ago was a pressing problem. We chose heating film for its air-cleaning effect and health benefits. Both of us have felt much better since this system started working in our home."

| Building | Living area | Heat loss | Floor covering, installation | Expected consumption |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| New family house | 121 m² | 40 W/m² | vinyl and tiles | 4,530 kWh/year |
| Holiday home | 123 m² | 45 W/m² | in a concrete layer, glued vinyl | 5,104 kWh/year |
| New apartment building | 385 m² | 50 W/m² | low-build-height underfloor heating | 18,018 kWh/year |
| Renovation of an old house | 75 m² | 80 W/m² | underfloor heating on the whole ground floor | 3,740 kWh/year |

What customers consider most important afterwards
Control room by room. With underfloor heating, two sensors work in every room: one monitors the air temperature, the other the floor temperature. This way comfort can be set, and the floor temperature specified by the flooring manufacturer is not exceeded either.
Good preparation. Installation is teamwork between the client and the installer. On a well-prepared site the underfloor heating is finished in one day and can be used immediately afterwards.
Layer build by floor covering. Laminate flooring can go directly on the system; under tiles a 4–5 cm layer of concrete or Rigidur is needed, onto which the tiler glues.

Questions about infrared underfloor heating
What is the experience with infrared underfloor heating?
With infrared underfloor heating, our customers most often highlight the even, warm floor, the dust-free air, control room by room and fast installation. A customer in Dunakeszi wrote after the first heating season that they were not cold even in very hard frost, and the heating was even everywhere. More reviews: infrared heating reviews.
What are the disadvantages of infrared underfloor heating?
A disadvantage of infrared underfloor heating is that under tiles a solid layer, 4–5 cm of concrete or Rigidur, is needed, which increases the height of the layer build, and with concreting two visits are required. The running cost depends on the building's heat loss and the electricity price; no H tariff applies, and for a household staying in the discounted gas band, heat from gas is cheaper. In detail: the disadvantages of infrared heating.
How long does infrared underfloor heating take to install?
On a well-prepared site, infrared underfloor heating is typically finished in one day and can be used immediately afterwards; with concreting, commissioning needs a second visit, 3–4 weeks after the concrete is poured. Installation is teamwork between the client and the installer. Preparation: what a well-prepared site looks like.
How much does infrared underfloor heating use in a real house?
According to our customers' planned data, the consumption of infrared underfloor heating depends on the heat loss: a new 121 m² family house at 40 W/m² uses 4,530 kWh per year for heating, a 123 m² holiday home built into a concrete layer 5,104 kWh per year, and a new 385 m² apartment building 18,018 kWh per year. All ten examples: How much does infrared heating use?
What should I watch for before installing infrared underfloor heating?
With infrared underfloor heating, customers consider three things most important afterwards: control room by room with two sensors (air and floor), a well-prepared site on which the system is finished in one day, and a layer build matched to the floor covering: laminate goes directly on the system, tiles on a 4–5 cm layer of concrete or Rigidur. Layer builds: electric underfloor heating.
Where can I see infrared underfloor heating that has been installed?
Installation reports on completed infrared underfloor heating are available for Mátraszentimre (135 m², IQotthon control), Kunfehértó (140 m², smart-home control), Szombathely, Sitke (under laminate flooring), Báta and a wooden modular house (all in Hungarian). In person, you can see the heating at the Budapest showroom (1039 Budapest, Rákóczi u. 4.). More: our references.
