Fast Installation, Quality Work!
Author: Tóth Tamás · 3 min read
Fast installation and quality are not mutually exclusive. What heating film speeds up when renovating an uninhabitable house, and what to check so that speed does not come at the expense of quality.
Fast installation and quality work are compatible if the speed comes from the technology and good organisation, not from skipping steps. With heating film, the pace comes from the absence of piping, a boiler and mechanical plant; quality is ensured by correct sizing, the build-up of layers and professional wiring.
From an uninhabitable house to a home
In construction and renovation, every stage that is finished sooner makes the property habitable sooner. Clients therefore typically expect three things at once: quality, cost efficiency and speed. These three are not easy to reconcile, but our company and our partners hold them to be the most important values – and heating is the part of the work where the choice of technology helps a lot.

Where does heating film speed things up?
- In renovating a flat in poor condition: where the floor has to be rebuilt anyway, the film goes into the build-up of the floor covering, without a separate pipe network. In such cases we recommend it especially, because it shortens the works significantly.
- Fewer trades, less coordination: there is no boiler, chimney, radiator or piping, so the work of fewer tradespeople has to be fitted together.
- Short installation: when the article was published in 2022, we could complete an installation in as little as 1 day; the exact time depends on the number of rooms and on how well the substrate is prepared.
How heating can be fitted into the renovation schedule when you need to move in urgently is described step by step in our article Heating fast and well?
What makes fast work quality work?
A short deadline is no reason to leave out a step. When choosing a contractor, ask these questions:
- Did they size it on the basis of a survey? The building's heat loss determines the power required – you can read about this on our on-site survey and consultation page (available in Hungary).
- Is the build-up of layers correct? The order and material of the reflective foil, the film and the floor covering determine whether the heat goes towards the living space.
- Who does the wiring? Heating film must be wired by a qualified electrician, with shock protection.
- What does the warranty cover? We give a 15.5-year warranty on 4th-generation heating film if we carry out the installation.
- Were the controls set up? Without the correct setting of the thermostat, even the best system does not run economically.
Is it worth it in the long run?
Gas heating may seem cheaper in the short run, because the amount paid up front is lower. Which is more economical in the long run depends on the building's heat loss, energy prices and usage habits, so instead of a general promise we suggest doing the sums. Our cost comparison and our page on electric heating help with this.
Generating your own electricity, for example with a solar panel system, can reduce the electricity cost of electric heating, but it does not make the energy consumption disappear. Accounting has also changed: since 1 January 2024, for new household systems in Hungary the electricity fed in and the electricity drawn are accounted for separately (gross metering). Net metering could only be kept by systems applied for by September 2023 and commissioned by 1 January 2026, for a maximum of 10 years.
