Fast and Good Heating? It Is Possible!

Yes, it is possible: infrared heating with heating film needs no gas plan, in our 2021 experience installation mostly took a single day, and once finished the system can be commissioned right away. Speed does not come at the expense of quality as long as the survey, the check of the electrical capacity and the preparation of the substrate are done in good time.

When does every day count?

Most phases of a renovation or construction project, from planning to commissioning, take weeks. There are, however, life situations when there is no such time:

• Because of a home swap or sale, a buyer arrives who cannot wait long to move, so the chosen new home has to be renovated urgently.
• When building a new house the deadline is tight, and a delay in any phase pushes back the move-in.
• A baby is born, and the family nest has to be ready for the big day.

A building project has steps that cannot be avoided, and some that cannot be rushed. Thanks to infrared heating technology, installing a new heating system or replacing the old one does not necessarily belong among them.

Why is heating film installation fast?

Infrared heating needs no gas plan, and the permitting and mechanical design required for gas heating are not needed. Heating film can be placed in the wall, on the ceiling and in the floor, in dry rooms and – with a suitable layer structure – in wet rooms alike. While at the time of writing the installers typically worked in the property for weeks on gas heating, installing the film was usually done in a day, and heating up also takes a short time.

How it fits into the schedule

1. Survey and sizing: the heat loss of the building decides what output each room needs. You can read about the process on the on-site survey and consultation page.
2. Electrical capacity: if the existing connection is not enough, the upgrade must be started with the electricity provider right at the beginning, so that this does not become the bottleneck.
3. Preparation: a flat, clean substrate for underfloor heating, or a finished supporting structure for a suspended ceiling.
4. Installation and connection: laying the film; the connection is made by a qualified electrician.
5. Finishing and commissioning: after the floor covering or plasterboard, the system can be used immediately once the thermostat is set.

What does it cost, and what is the upkeep?

There is no boiler to buy, and the fee for weeks of mechanical work does not add to the initial cost. In operation there is also no annual service obligation: heating film needs no regular maintenance, whereas gas and heat pump systems must be serviced once or twice a year.

Comfort in everyday life
