New Fűtőfólia Showroom in Budapest, with a Chance to Try Infrared Heating

You can try infrared heating in operation today at our Budapest showroom, at 1039 Budapest, Rákóczi u. 4., on weekdays between 10 am and 5 pm, and on Saturdays at a pre-arranged time. This post was written in October 2020, when in our then office we first set up a showroom with all three heating methods.

Why did we open a showroom in 2020?

Interested people most often asked where they could experience in reality what a room heated with infrared heating is like, and where they could talk to a customer who had been using it for years. Existing customers understandably are not keen to let strangers into their homes, so in autumn 2020 we renovated the office so that ceiling heating, wall heating and underfloor heating could be tried as stand-alone heating in one place.

Tamás Tóth, the head of our company and president of the Hungarian National Association of Electric Heating, made a video about the conversion. Our company has worked with infrared heating since 2012, and we have carried out more than 5,000 installations at home and abroad.

How was the showroom made?

Ceiling heating in a suspended ceiling

First the supporting structure of the suspended ceiling was built. On this went the green reflective foil, which turns the heat rays back towards the living space, and then, from below, the heating film. We covered the film with plasterboard sheets, followed by skim-coating and painting – our colleagues helped with the painting too. In the ceiling we left a separate section where you can see how the structure of a suspended ceiling should be professionally prepared.

Wall heating and underfloor heating

We built the wall heating into the wall behind the meeting table, new laminate parquet went over the underfloor heating, and the office also got new lighting. This way all three installation methods can be compared during a single visit.

Wiring and control

The wiring of heating film must in every case be done by a qualified electrician. The heating is controlled by a Wi-Fi thermostat, so the control can be tried out as well. In the 2020 conversion we built in 3rd-generation heating film, which was the newest at the time; today we install 4th-generation heating film.
