Infrared Underfloor Heating Experience with a 10-Metre Ceiling

Yes, it works. In a Budapest dance studio where the ceiling height reaches 10 metres in places, heating film provides the warmth as underfloor heating. The old heating could not warm the huge volume of air, whereas the infrared underfloor heating warms the dancers moving directly on the floor – and the owner spoke contentedly about it even after a year of use.

The old heating system was not enough

The original heating system of the Táncosok Klubja dance studio could not warm the large floor area, up to 10 metres high in places. With systems that heat the air, warm air rises, and in such a tall hall this takes away a great deal of energy without being felt down below, on the dance floor.

A more efficient solution was needed, and it turned out to be infrared heating. Radiant heat warms the dancers directly, so those practising on the floor feel a pleasant temperature regardless of how high the ceiling is above them. It soon became known among Budapest students: "come and dance here, because it is warm here".

After one year: the owner's experience

We regularly ask our customers how the heating installed by us has worked out. Szabolcs, the owner of the dance studio, told us happily about his positive experience after the first winter. He did even more: he gave interested people the opportunity to try infrared underfloor heating on site, in operation. We were especially glad about this because many people want to experience what such electric heating is like in person before deciding. It is a pleasure to receive this kind of feedback.

A technical detail: control divided into two zones

The large floor area is not used all at once, so 2 thermostats were installed. This way the heating is switched on only in the part where people are at that moment. Since not everywhere needs heating, this setup saves quite a lot of energy.
