Who is behind Fűtőfólia?
Behind the brand name Fűtőfólia stands Toma Family Mobil Kft.: this company operates this website, and carries out the survey, wiring, installation and warranty administration. We issue quotes, contracts and invoices only in this name, with the tax number 25034046-2-13.
We have worked with infrared heating film since 2012. The founder and managing director is Tamás Tóth, who is also the president of the Hungarian National Electric Heating Association (MOEFSZ).
In numbers: more than 5,000 completed installations, 200,000 m² of installed heating film, and 436 Google reviews with an average of 5.0 (as of September 18, 2026).
We do not just sell heating film: we design the system room by room, wire the heating film, install it, commission it, and during the warranty period we also repair it. That is why we do not sell heating film without wiring: we could not give a warranty on it.
Where can you see it in operation?
We install across the whole country, but you can try the heating film switched on in four places. It is worth arranging opening hours in advance everywhere.
Budapest: our own showroom
Rákóczi u. 4, 1039 Budapest. Monday to Friday 10:00–17:00, Saturday by prior appointment. Floor, ceiling and wall heating, infrared panels and thermostats in operation; you can handle 4th-generation heating film and see it switched on, with a thermal camera.
Részletek →Mohács: reseller and showroom
Fűtőfólia Standard, Eötvös utca 16, 7700 Mohács. In southern Transdanubia this is where you can try the system. Please check the opening hours in advance.
Részletek →Eger: reseller
Indi Szolár, Szövetkezet utca 5/1, 3300 Eger. Our partner in northern Hungary; you can also start a quote request with them.
Részletek →Csorna: can be tried at a customer's
Hanyi Vadászbolt (Arany János utca 7, 9300 Csorna) is our customer, not our partner: as a shopper, during the shop's opening hours, you can see the heating film built into the shop's ceiling in operation.
Részletek →What do we sell today?
Today we install SwissWarm 4th-generation, self-regulating (PTC) heating film. In Europe we are the only ones who sell this heating film. We no longer sell the earlier 3rd-generation heating film; the warranty on old installations naturally remains valid.
It differs from the earlier generations in two structural points:
- Increased carbon-paste surface: it gives off heat over a larger area, more evenly.
- Full-width contact strip: a strip runs the whole way where the conductor strip and the carbon paste meet. In the 1st generation this point was the weak link, and in the 3rd generation a mesh solution stood here.
Self-regulating: as the temperature rises, the resistance of the carbon paste increases, so where heat cannot escape, under furniture or rugs, the heating film reduces its output by about 25% by itself and does not overheat.
What you can count on when planning: an output of 110, 220 or 400 W/m²; long-wavelength infrared radiation of 8–14 µm; a complete 6 mm layer build-up (reflective foil, heating film, vapour barrier film) with a range of 5–6 m; IP67 protection, in every case fitted with an earthing mesh. It has no moving parts, so it is silent and needs no maintenance.
The detailed comparison, the technical data and the steps for recognising it can be read on the page on 4th-generation heating film.
Heating foil or heating film? The same product
Heating film means the same product as heating foil (the Hungarian everyday term is fűtőfólia): a thin, layered electric heating element which, built into the floor, wall or ceiling, heats with infrared radiation. There is no difference in quality between the two words, only the name differs.
Why two names? The English name of the product is heating film, and that is also printed on our 4th-generation film: 4th GENERATION PTC PREMIUM HEATING FILM. Sellers choose one word or the other; since 2012 we have used the name fűtőfólia, which is therefore also our brand name. The web addresses of our product pages still contain the word "futofilm" today, for example on the 4th-generation heating film page.
What matters when choosing is not the name but three things: whether the product is self-regulating, who designs and installs it, and what warranty comes with it. On our 4th-generation, self-regulating heating film we give a 15.5-year warranty when we do the installation.
Our earlier summary also covers the background of the two names: Heating foil or heating film?
How can you get heating film?
There are three routes. We do not supply heating film without wiring, because we could not give a warranty on it.
| How you order | What we do | Warranty |
|---|---|---|
| Complete system, installed by us | Survey, room-by-room technical proposal, wiring, installation, thermostat connection, commissioning. | 15.5 years on 4th-generation heating film |
| Wired, for your own tradesman | Survey and technical proposal, the heating film cut to size and wired; the installation is done by your tradesman. | On the heating film itself only: the 15.5 years do not apply in this case |
| From the web shop, directly | The 30 cm wide narrow heating film and the 12 V heating film can be ordered ready-made (Hungarian-language shop, delivery within Hungary). | The warranty on the product |
From the survey to handover
The sequence is the same everywhere in Hungary, whether it is a flat in Budapest or a family house in the country.
- 1
Preliminary discussion
By phone or in person we go through your needs and the characteristics of the property. If you have a floor plan, please send it: from it we can calculate exactly how much heating film each room needs.
- 2
On-site survey
The output you need is determined not by the floor area but by the heat loss of the building: typically 110 W/m² for a new, well-insulated house, 220 W/m² for a renovation, and 400 W/m² as the third level.
- 3
Technical proposal and quote
For each room we give the type and quantity of heating film and the control, with an exact sum. This is when we also agree the date of the installation.
- 4
Preparation list
After the order we hand over what must be prepared before the installation. The receiving surface must be flat, dry, dust-free and without sharp or protruding parts, and the room must be empty for the duration of the work.
- 5
Installation
On site we measure again, cut the heating films to size and connect them. For floor heating, from the bottom up: thermal insulation, heat-reflecting foil, heating film, vapour barrier film, earthing mesh, then the layer suited to the floor covering. For ceiling heating the reflective foil and the heating film go behind the plasterboard.
- 6
Floor covering
Under laminate flooring the layer build-up is simple. Under floor tiles and wall tiles it is forbidden to glue directly onto the heating film: a 4–5 cm layer of concrete or 1.5–2 cm of dry screed board (for example Rigidur) goes over it.
- 7
Commissioning and handover
We connect the thermostats and commission the system, and the electrician carries out the electrical safety inspection and issues the report. The warranty starts on the day of commissioning.
What does installed heating film cost, and what else should you count on?
The price of the complete system in 2026 is HUF 11,250–18,000 per m² gross, including installation: Lite HUF 11,250, Standard HUF 14,625, Premium HUF 18,000 per m². The price per square metre refers to the floor area to be heated, not to the area of the heating film. These are guide prices; the exact sum depends on the output, the layer build-up, the controls and the conditions on site.
Installation means fixing the heating film, the electrical and thermostat connections, and commissioning. It does not include forming the junction boxes and thermostat boxes, other preparation, and the floor covering. In addition, two items are worth counting on: the cost of the electrical safety inspection and report is borne by the customer, and if a connection above 32 A is needed, the fee for increasing the grid capacity is HUF 3,900 net per ampere (HUF 4,953 gross per ampere), plus the standardisation of the metering point (in E.ON areas, data of July 2026).
The running cost is determined by the electricity price: in September 2026 residential electricity in Hungary costs HUF 36.386/kWh up to 2,523 kWh a year (about 210 kWh a month) and HUF 70.104/kWh above that; the household's whole consumption counts towards the allowance. Heating film converts the electricity it draws entirely into heat, so 1 kWh of heat costs the same as 1 kWh of electricity. There is no maintenance cost, because there are no moving parts.
For figures for your own house you will find a calculator on the consumption page, and for comparison with gas we recommend our gas boiler page, where we state the result even if gas comes out cheaper.
Electrical preparation and the local rules
The electrical connection of heating film may only be made by a qualified electrician. After installation an electrical safety inspection and report are mandatory, and a suitable thermostat must also be connected.
The main points of the electrical preparation, according to our pre-installation checklist:
- the electrical network of the heating should preferably be a separate system, and every heating circuit should get its own supply;
- space must be left in the distribution board for the residual-current devices of the heating circuits;
- below 15 A a flexible cable of 1.5 mm² is needed, above that 2.5 mm²; above the switching limit of the thermostat a contactor is installed for each heating circuit;
- only star-point wiring may be used, and junction boxes must not be covered by the floor covering;
- the thermostat goes in a screw-fixing box of 65 mm inner diameter, preferably recessed, not directly next to a window or door and not behind furniture.
What size of connection is needed? As a rule of thumb, 1 m² of 220 W heating film draws about 1 A, and 1 m² of 110 W about 0.5 A. Above 20 m² of heating film a three-phase connection is probably needed; the basic connection is 1×32 A, and you can read your own on the main fuse.

Where can you buy heating film in Hungary?
Heating film and heating foil are the same product under a different name. From us you can get 4th-generation, self-regulating heating film (on the product: "4th GENERATION PTC PREMIUM HEATING FILM") with a survey, wired and installed, on the basis of an individual quote, anywhere in Hungary. You can see it in operation in our Budapest showroom (Rákóczi u. 4, 1039 Budapest) and at our reseller in Mohács. On the two names: heating foil or heating film.
Where can I see heating film in operation?
In our Budapest showroom (Rákóczi u. 4, 1039 Budapest), Monday to Friday between 10:00 and 17:00. In the country, in Mohács, in the showroom of Fűtőfólia Standard (Eötvös utca 16, 7700 Mohács). In Csorna, at one of our customers, Hanyi Vadászbolt (Arany János utca 7, 9300 Csorna), you can also see the heating film built into the ceiling in operation during the shop's opening hours. It is worth arranging a visit in advance everywhere.
Who sells 4th-generation heating film in Hungary?
SwissWarm 4th-generation, self-regulating heating film is sold in Hungary, and in Europe, only by us, Fűtőfólia (Toma Family Mobil Kft.). According to Tamás Tóth, the company's founder, he has the product manufactured, and it is made exclusively for Toma Family Mobil Kft. A 15.5-year warranty applies to the heating film when we do the installation. Details: 4th-generation heating film.
Which generation of heating film is installed today?
4th-generation, self-regulating heating film. It is made with an increased carbon-paste surface and a full-width contact strip, and where furniture or a rug covers it, it reduces its output by about 25% by itself. We no longer sell 3rd-generation heating film; the warranty on earlier installations remains valid.
Which part of the country do you go to?
We undertake surveys and installation throughout Hungary, from Budapest to Záhony and Sopron, and also in the neighbouring countries. The conditions of travel are in every case set out in the quote.
How much does heating film cost in Hungary in 2026?
The complete system costs HUF 11,250–18,000 per m² gross, including installation, calculated on the floor area to be heated: Lite HUF 11,250, Standard HUF 14,625, Premium HUF 18,000 per m². These are guide prices: we give the exact sum after the on-site survey, because it also depends on the output, the layer build-up and the controls.
What is the warranty on the heating film?
We give a 15.5-year warranty on 4th-generation heating film when we do the installation. If we wire the heating film but your own tradesman installs it, the warranty covers only the heating film itself, and the 15.5 years do not apply in that case. The warranty period starts on the day of commissioning.
Can I buy the heating film and have my own electrician install it?
Yes, but only wired. In that case we carry out the survey, give a technical proposal, and hand over the heating film cut to size and wired. The installation is the responsibility of your tradesman, so the 15.5-year warranty does not apply in that case: the warranty covers only the heating film itself.
How long does an installation take?
Installing an average 150 m² family house usually takes a day. If plasterboard or a warm floor covering goes over the heating film, one visit is enough. With concrete two are needed: one when the heating film is laid, and one 3–4 weeks after the concrete is poured, to connect the thermostat and commission the system.
Do you also install heating film outside Hungary?
Yes, we also work in the neighbouring countries. In that case too, the conditions of travel (distance, date and costs) are set out in the quote, so it is worth starting the quote request with the exact address of the property.
What are the reviews of the heating film like?
On Google we currently have 436 reviews with an average of 5.0 (as of September 18, 2026). Customer accounts can be read on the infrared heating reviews page (in Hungarian).
