Case study: heating film instead of a wood stove in a 158 m² holiday home lived in from April to October. Concrete floor, minimal build-up height, wifi thermostat – and the planned consumption.
In this holiday home the wood stove was replaced with heating film. The owners were looking for heating that needs hardly any attention, and the concrete floor could not be touched – so the minimal build-up height of heating film was decisive.

From weekend house to seasonal home
The house was originally bought for weekends. They renovated it step by step, and today they live there for part of the year, typically from April to October. They used to heat with wood, but cutting and chopping wood took much time and physical effort, so the main consideration for the new heating was that it should not be a bother.
According to the owners, the heating film delivered what they expected: they heat comfortably, and instead of hours spent on firewood, more time is left for the house and the garden. We write about similar cases in our article on replacing wood firing.
Parameters
| Living area of the house | 158 m² |
|---|---|
| Installed power | 7.8 kW |
| Heat loss | 35 W/m² |
| Expected electricity consumption | 5,200 – 5,700 kWh |
| Control | wifi thermostat |
The expected consumption is a design estimate, not a measured value. What the heating consumption of a house depends on is described on our page on consumption.
