Calibrating Heating Film Thermostats – Setting the Real Temperature – B1000

If the thermostat of your heating film does not show the real room temperature, calibration can fix it. Our video and description show the service menu step by step, with a worked example.

Calibrating Heating Film Thermostats – Setting the Real Temperature – B1000

If the thermostat of your heating film shows a different temperature from the one that is actually in the room, you can bring the two into line by calibration: in the service menu you enter by how many degrees the displayed value must be shifted up or down. The setting takes a few button presses, and afterwards the thermostat works with the real temperature.

When is it worth calibrating?

The value shown on the display of the thermostat may differ from the actual temperature of the room. Since the device switches the heating film on the basis of the measured value, the difference can make the room cooler or warmer than expected. The point of calibration is to tell the thermostat how far the real temperature is from what it is currently showing. You can check the real value with a separate thermometer.

Calibration steps

The steps apply to the thermostat shown in the video; on other models the buttons may differ.

  1. Hold down the M button and the clock button at the same time. The service menu appears, and the calibration setting is shown right away.
  2. Work quickly: if you do not touch the display for 3–4 seconds, the thermostat switches off and you have to start again.
  3. The display shows the current correction – in the video it was minus 3 degrees, meaning the thermostat showed that much less. Use the arrows to set the value you need.
  4. Switch the thermostat off. This applies the setting, and the device now shows the real temperature.

A worked example: how much should you adjust?

Suppose the room is at 23 degrees but the thermostat shows 25. In that case the correct setting is minus 2: the displayed value drops by 2 degrees and will match the real temperature. If it is the other way round, with the thermostat showing less than the real value, enter a positive correction.
