Renovated House

Case study: a 79 m² house bought as a holiday home and renovated, where heating film replaced a wood stove. The concrete floor made the low build-up height decisive; 9.5 kW output, thermostat control.
In a 79 m² house bought as a holiday home and renovated step by step, heating film replaced the wood stove. The owners wanted low-maintenance heating, and since the existing concrete floor could not be broken up, the low build-up height of the film was decisive.

From stove to heating film
The house was originally bought for weekends, has since been renovated step by step, and today the owners live there for part of the year – mostly from April to October. Until then a wood stove heated it. Cutting and chopping wood was physically hard and time-consuming work, so they looked for new heating that needs almost no attention.
The concrete screed could not be touched, so a solution requiring a thick layer build-up was out of the question. Heating film suited the case because of its minimal build-up height. Besides underfloor heating with heating film, we have also written a separate article on replacing wood firing.
According to the couple, the new heating lived up to what they expected: it is convenient, and they have much more time for the house and the garden.
