Heating Foil or Heating Film?

There is no difference: heating foil and heating film are two common names for the same thin, radiant electric heating layer. When choosing, it is not the name that matters, but the quality of the product, whether it is self-regulating, and who installs it professionally.

One technology, two names

Heatflow heating film – also known as heating foil – was presented in Budapest at the Construma exhibition in 2015, and from the same year self-regulating, intelligent heating foil also appeared in Hungary. Its advantage was that it reduces its power in covered areas, for example under furniture, so the placement of furnishings is less restricted, and the risk arising from the incorrect use of non-self-regulating films is reduced.

What to look out for when buying?

• Choose a company whose references can be checked and which also installs the product.
• Ask whether the heating foil is self-regulating, and in what build-up it can be installed.
