Heating Film at the Kecskemét Animal Shelter – Kecskemét Online

In May 2016 the Menhely az Állatokért (Shelter for Animals) Foundation in Kecskemét approached us wanting infrared heating for its sick dogs and cats. We installed heating film underfloor heating in two large rooms and supplementary heating in a few more rooms, and the work was also reported by Kecskemét Online.

What did Kecskemét Online write?

Kecskemét Online (keol.hu) reported in a short news item on 14 June 2016 that infrared heating had been installed under the cats and dogs in several rooms of the animal shelter. Most of the item consisted of the account of the installer, that is our company. In our own words, its gist:

• the foundation specifically asked for third-generation infrared heating for the places of the sick animals, and we quickly decided to help;
• two large rooms got full underfloor heating with our film, and supplementary heating was installed in several smaller places;
• on the day of installation our colleagues also went out to the site, walked around and spent time with the animals;
• the account drew attention to the fact that many dogs and cats at the shelter are waiting for a new, loving owner.

Why underfloor heating for animals?

Dogs and cats spend most of their time lying on or near the floor. Heating film warms mainly the floor and surfaces, not the air, so the warmth is exactly where the animal rests. That is why the shelter asked for the heating specifically under the sick animals.

At the shelter, third-generation film was installed at the time. Today we install 4th-generation heating film, which reduces its own output automatically where it ends up under a rug or other covering.
